School children salute Kargil martyrs

Hundreds of school children today took out a silent rally in Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh to express solidarity with the soldiers on the Kargil front.

The rally, which concluded at the collectorate, paid glowing tributes to the Kargil martyrs. A two-minute silence was observed in their honour. Later, the children handed over a draft of Rs 51,000 to the district collector towards the welfare of the soldiers and their families.

Officers and employees of the scheduled caste welfare department also handed over a cheque of more than Rs 232,000 to the collector.
