Vettai, starring Madhavan and Arya, directed by Linguswamy was a huge hit in Tamil. The film is now being remade in Telugu with Naga Chaitanya and Sunil (the comedian who is now doing hero roles after Maryada Ramanna and Poolarangadu).

The as yet untitled film, produced by Bellamkonda Suresh, is directed by P Kishore Kumar (also called Dolly) who had earlier helmed Koncham Ishtam Koncham Kashtam.

The film was launched in the presence of Akkineni Nageswara Rao and D Rama Naidu, grandfathers of Chaitanya, on June 14.

Hansika Motwani will play one of the heroines.

Allu Sirish turns actor

Son of well-known producer Allu Aravind and the younger brother of Stylish Star Allu Arjun, Allu Sirish has been bitten by the acting bug.

Having been involved in the family-owned production house Geetha Arts (he was co-producer of Ghajini) and then with a film magazine that he began and was editor of for a while, Sirish has finally decided to switch careers and turn actor.

He has been honing his skills in various departments in Mumbai. His first film Gouravam is a bi-lingual (shot in Tamil and Telugu) to be directed by Radhamohan (of Akasamantha, Gaganam fame).

Yami Gautam, the pretty and happening heroine of Vicky Donor,  who had earlier made her Telugu debut with Ravi Babu's Nuvvila, is cast opposite Sirish.

Gouravam will be produced by Prakash Raj under his Duet Movies banner. Prakash Raj, Nasser, Pavitra Lokesh and L B Sriram

Nithin in a bi-lingual

After a really dry spell, Nithin had a hit in Ishq directed by Vikram Kumar. Ishq ran for more than 100 days--something rare these days.

Nithin will be back facing the camera shortly in a bi-lingual to be produced by Gautham Menon and directed by Prem Sai.

Richa Gangopadhyay is his co-star in this film titled Courier Boy Kalyan in Telugu and Tamil Selvanum Thaniyar Anjalum in Tamil.

The music for the film will be composed by singer Karthik.
