Ganesh Venkataraman, who impressed Tamil viewers as a Sikh IAS officer in Radhamohan's Abhiyum Naanum and as Amitabh Bachchan's son in Kandahar, is the leading star of Panithuli.

The talking point of the film is Ganesh's 'Hollywood Look', for which Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman's personal make-up artiste Rose Hill was drafted in from Los Angeles.

Says Ganesh, "I sport two completely different looks in Panithuli. The story starts in Chennai and I play this very simple Chennai guy. For this portion, I didn't use any make-up as we went with a completely raw look.

He adds, "When the story moves to the US, the script demanded a radical change in the character. It was important that the character look very stylish and suave. That is the reason we wanted a top stylist."

Director Natty Kumar explains why the look was so important. "The image I had in mind for Ganesh was that of a Hollywood superstar. So we flew in Hugh Jackman's personal make-up artiste Rose Hill to do Ganesh's make-up. From his make-up to the different hairstyles he sports, she gave Ganesh the 'Hollywood Look' that I had in mind."
