Dasaradh had a dream directorial debut with Santosham starring Akkineni Nagarjuna, Gracy Singh and Shriya Saran. After the average success of his other films, Sambaram and Swagatham, Dasaradh delivered another block buster with Mr Perfect two years ago.

Now Dasaradh is ready with Greeku Veerudu starring Akkineni Nagarjuna and Nayanthara, which is releasing on Friday, May 3. In this short and exclusive interview, he gives us a peek into the film.

How did you decide to work with Nagarjuna after 10 years? What prompted you to make another love story with Greeku Veerudu.?

I have been planning this for almost three years. I wanted to do a film with Nagarjuna and thought of a family entertainer. Instead of making a pure family entertainer, I thought of a mature love story and it got set.

Nagarjuna plays an event manager in the film. What is Nayanthara's character?

She plays a children's doctor working in the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

What's the film about?

It's a journey film. Both the characters are settled in the US and meet at different points. They come to India and the film looks at what happens here.

You invariably make love stories involving families. Why so?

I love to see those kinds of films and hence make films like that.

There are no villains in your films...

(Smiles) Yes, there are no villains.

Did Nagarjuna surprise you with his new image makeover?

No, we discussed it and he came up with it.

'After 10 years, Nagarjuna is still the same person'

In your films there are generally two heroines. Why?

Out of four films only three have had two heroines.

What does Meera Chopra have to do in Greeku Veerudu? How did you choose her? She's being seen in a Telugu film after a while.

She has an interesting and important role. She makes a difference to her character. She was doing films in other languages.

What is the message you are conveying through Greeku Veerudu?

Never give up on relationships.

How was it directing Nagarjuna after a decade?

For me he is the same person. He encourages me and is very co-operative.

'Greeku Veerudu is a guaranteed entertainer'

How was it working with Nayanthara?

Nayanthara is a well disciplined and wonderful actor and a great human being.

Where is the film shot?

We shot in America, Switzerland, Bangkok and Hyderabad.

What would you guarantee the audience through Greeku Veerudu?

Pleasant entertainment in summer. It has good music and good comedy. Brahmanandam has an awesome role. There are other artistes like M S Narayana, Venu Madhav, Ali, Raghu Babu, and JP to entertain.

The film is releasing on May 3, coinciding with 100 years of cinema. How does that make you feel?

It's a pleasure it is releasing on that day.

Have you decided on what to do next?

I haven't yet thought of it.
