After acting in a period devotional film Pandurangadu, Nandamuri Balakrishna (Balayya)'s big-budget commercial Telugu film Simha, produced by Parachuri Kiriti (under United movies banner) and directed by Boyapati Srinu is releasing on April 30.

The Nandamuri family has always had a thing for the word Simha. For, the films with this word done by any member of the family right from Kondaveeti Simham (the late N.T. Rama Rao), Samarasimha Reddy and Narasimha Naidu (Balakrishna) to Simhadri (NTR Jr) have been blockbusters.

This prompted even Nara Chandra Babu Naidu to say, "Simha title is suitable only for Nandamuri heroes".

Since the title of the film is Simha, it is understandable that Balayya would play a strong and fearless character in it.

Director Boyapati Srinu (who has also written the story, screenplay and dialogues) says, "we will be showing him in a new dimension in this film and his character will be different from all other characters he has played so far. Balayya's role in this movie will be extremely powerful."

Srinu who has helmed hits like Bhadra and Thulasi is confident of a hat-trick with Simha which got delayed on account of Balakrishna's injury sustained while shooting the film. However, he came back with gusto to finish the pending song.

Huge sets were erected at Ramoji Film City where some of the songs were shot. The producer has not compromised on anything in making this big-budget extravaganza.

Balayya has three glamorous women -- Nayantara, Namitha and Sneha Ullal -- to keep him company.

Nayanthara returns to Telugu films after Thulasi (a short gap though her Tamil films were dubbed into Telugu). She seems to be sporting a very ethnic look in the film.

Namitha is there to sizzle too after Billa.

Sneha Ullal, the Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan look alike too finds a place in this film.

Sai Kumar from the Malayalam film industry will make his appearance in this film.

Simha also stars comedians Brahmanandam, Venu Madhav, Ali, Krishna Bhagavan and L B Sriram.

K R Vijaya, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Jhansi, Sana and Saira Banu make up the rest of the cast.

Chakri is the music director of the film whose 'audio success meet' was held recently at a function attended by former chief minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu (the brother-in-law and sambandi of Balakrishna), film personalities Dasari Narayan Rao, B Gopal and other members of the Nandamuri family like Balakrishna, Kalyan Ram and NTR.

All the six songs composed by Chakri have been appreciated by the listeners.

The crew consists of stunt director Stun Siva, cinematographer Arthur Wilson, art director A S Prakash and editor Kotagiri Prakash.
