Veteran actress Shabana Azmi, who met Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at a private tea party on Monday, says he is a big fan of legendary singers Laga Mangeshkar and Mohammed Rafi.

'Met Nawaz Sharif yesterday. Delighted dat he is fan of Kaifi Sb Lataji Mohd Rafi. I said we nd Indo Pak coproductions. Nawaz Sharif said he gives his full support 4 films as coproductions between India Pakistan. He brings msg of Peace n encourages exchanges,' the 63-year-old singer tweeted with a picture (above). 

The party was hosted at the residence of steel tycoon Sajjan Jindal. 'Indo Pak Coproductions will foster collaboration and not competition.it will be a win win sitn for both countries. Art unites not divides. Over tea at Sajjan Jindals I said guftugu bund na ho baat se baat chale was msg Vajpayee had taken 2 Pak. We nd to carry on in same strain,' she added.

Meanwhile, Shatrughan Sinha shared a picture of himself with Sharif and tweeted: 'Met the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Nawaz Sharif. A good meeting.'

Newly appointed HRD minister Smriti Irani might be receiving flak from the Congress for her educational qualifications but her colleagues in the entertainment industry have taken to Twitter to support her. Here's what they said:

Payal Rohtagi: 'Focus of idle minds on Smriti Irani educational qualification is hilarious. She has given superb competition in Amethi. Give her a chance. Now educational qualification has become a requisite for being a politician? Can we check on more imp requisite like NOT being Corrupt?'

Mallika Sherawat, who attended the recently-concluded Cannes Film Festival, is now in US to take part in a discussion on gender issues at Oxford University.

'Going in for a talk at the historic @oxfordunion , feel privileged to be invited,' the 37-year-old actress tweeted.

'At the historic Oxford university, what a journey, Haryana to Oxford,' she added with a picture of her.

Meanwhile, filmmaker Sudhir Mishra, who is now back in Mumbai, shared his experience and tweeted: 'If u ignore d glitz n d celebritydom, Cannes was rejuvenating. Wonderful films n people passionate about Cinema. My favorite film in Cannes was d Hungarian film that won d top prize in d Un certain Regard section. : White God! Simply brilliant! Loved "Foxcatcher" which was in competition in Cannes. And "Mommy " by a 25 year old kid called Xavier Dolan was stunning. Mr Turner by Mike Leigh abt d grt painter took d viewer into d head of d tortured genius. N at d Centre of it was 1 of bravest performances!'
