PIX: Stars attend the 59th South Filmfare awards

The 59th South Indian Filmfare Awards was held on Saturday, July 7, at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, and most of the film industry turned up to cheer their colleagues.

The awards were given for Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada cinema.

We take a look at the awards ceremony.

Among those who arrived were Kamal Haasan and his star daughter Shruti.

Shruti Hassan received the Best Debut award for her Tamil film 7 Aum Arivu and Telugu film Anaga Anaga O Dheerudu.

Her father Kamal Haasan presented her the award.

Tamannaah, who will soon be seen in the Himmatwala remake, performed at the event.

Deepika Padukone was one of the award presenters of the night -- she presented the Best Actor award to Dhanush for his Tamil film, Aadukalam.

Trisha presented the Best Actor award to Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar for his film Hudugaru.

Nayanthara bagged the Best Actress award for the Telugu film, Sri Rama Rajyam.

Actresses Poorna and Lakshmi Manchu were spotted catching up at the awards show.

Actors Abbas and Vikram later joined Lakshmi Manchu in the audience.

Actress Khushboo enjoys the show while Trisha takes a moment off to check her messages on her cellphone.

Tamil and Telugu actress Richa Gangopadhya will soon be seen in the Tamil remake of Dabangg, called Osthe.

Telugu actor Manchu Manoj was seated next to Charmee -- who was last seen in the Hindi film Buddha Hoga Tera Baap -- and Endhiran director Shankar and wife.

Veteran actress Seema Sasi achieved the Lifetime Achievement Award from Kamal Haasan.

Rajnikanth's daughter Aishwarya was not seated next to husband Dhanush. Instead, she sat next to director S P Muthuraman.

Salim Kumar, who won a National Award for the Malayalam film Adaminte Makan Abu, bagged a Filmfare award for the same as well.
