The Paramount Pictures film, directed by Swiss director Marc Forster, is based on the Max Brooks novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War and is set to be released in 2012.

The zombie apocalypse movie has also reportedly enlisted the help of the effects gurus who worked on projects such as Battle: Los Angeles and the last critically acclaimed X-Men movie.
