The twitter world is quite a busy one, and Bollywood contributes a great deal to it. Here's looking at the best star tweets of the day.

Madhuri Dixit used twitter to explain why she refused to work with Tamil superstar Rajnikanth in his new film.

'Hi everyone. Sorry it took so long, but have been busy...hope u r all well! Would have loved to do a film with Rajnikant, but the role was that of his sister...need to wait for the right role,' she tweeted.

It seems Rajni, will star opposite Deepika Padukone, will have to wait longer to find his screen sister!

Boman Irani tweeted about a funny travel incident. 'Guy on flight tells me how he loves my movies, watches them and is a big fan, and then politely asks me: "by the way, what is your name?" I told him that I was now HIS fan. Forgot to ask him his name!!!' he tweeted.

He didn't stop there. He added another funny fan moment: 'Once a lady came to me with her 2 month old baby and said "yeh aapka bada fan hai!" I wanted to ask her if the baby uttered my dialogues too!'

Sonakshi Sinha's mother Poonam Sinha is apparently cooking delicious food for the cast of Joker. 'hahaha, yeah she is! and then we have to hit the gym double time :p,' Sonakshi tweeted to a fan.

The gyming, of course, is not as much fun -- especially if it is with her co-star Akshay Kumar.

'tried training wit @akshaykumar today. ran away in 7 mins flat. what may look easy, clearly is NOT! bacche ki jaan lega!!!' she tweeted.

Lata Mangeshkar got lost in her memories, as she discovered some of her old books.

'Namaskar. Main aaj meri kai purani kitaabein nikaal rahi thi; aur mujhe Shri Harivanshrai Bachchan ji ki ek pustak mili jo maine 1955 mein kharidi thi; yeh meri bahut hi pasandeeda kitaab hai; aur main aapse is kitaab mein se apni kuchh pasandeeda lines share karti hu, jinme mujhe is mahakavi ki vedana nazar aati hai. "is chakki par khaate chakkar, mera tan-man jeevan jar-jar; he kumbhakaar, meri mitti ko aur na ab hairaan karo; ab mat mera nirmaan karo," she tweeted.

Amitabh Bachchan was quick to thank the lady, as he tweeted back: 'lata ji ...aap se Babuji ki pustak aur kavita ke bare mein padh kar hridaya ubhar aaya .. anek anek dhanyavaad!'
