Salman Khan has reason to cheer this festive season.

The actor's superhit film Dabangg won five trophies at the Big Star Entertainment Awards held in Mumbai on Tuesday night.

The film, which also starred Sonakshi Sinha, and directed by Abhinav Kashyap, bagged the awards in five categories -- Best Actor, Best Film, Best Director, Best Entertaining Song (for Malaika Arora's Munni Badnaam Hui) and Best Male Singer award for Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for Mast Mast Do Nain.

The event was attended by Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra to name a few.

The award ceremony will be aired on December 31 on Star Plus.

Veteran actor Dharmendra had reason to cheer as he won the Big Star Entertainer award for 50 years of glory.

The awards have been conceptualised by Reliance Broadcast Network Limited (RBNL) and seeks to create a unique platform which honours entertainment across genres such as movies, music television and sports.
