PIX: Bollywood gals and their corporate connection

Bollywood actresses clearly prefer powerful men over their male colleagues in the film industry, if the trend is anything to go by.
 
Many actresses, over the years, have ventured out of the industry looking for eternal love and have settled down with the rich corporate types.

Here's a look at some of the women, and their businessman husbands.

Urvashi Sharma

Starlet Urvashi Sharma got married to her entrepreneur/actor boyfriend Sachiin Joshi last month.

Sachiin Joshi is the son of gutka baron Jagdish M Joshi. He's also the vice-chairman of JMJ Group, who are into hospitality, construction, gym and spa among others. 

Sachiin recently made his Bollywood debut with Aazaan.

Reema Sen

Last month also saw Malamaal Weekly actress Reema Sen marry a New Delhi-based hotelier Shiv Karan Singh.

Reema and Karan met through a common friend, and courted for about a year before they got married.

Celina Jaitly

Celina, who delivered twins on March 24, married Dubai-based Austrian businessman, hotelier and marketeer Peter Haag last July at a 1,000-year-old monastery in Austria.

The couple resides in Dubai now.

Kim Sharma

Kim Sharma married Kenyan businessman Ali Punjani in August 2010.

Ali, 34, is of Indian origin but his family has been living in Kenya for many generations. According to Kim, 'He is one of the most important people in Kenya and has a finger in every business there -- from real estate to finance!'

Divya Khosla

After the release of her first film Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo, Divya Khosla married Bhushan Kumar, chairman and managing director of Super Cassettes Industries Ltd, which owns the music label T-Series.

Bhushan Kumar has now turned producer and made films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Karzzzz.

Ayesha Takia

Ayesha Takia married Farhan Azmi in March 2009.
 
Son of politician Abu Azmi, Farhan is a restaurateur amd owns restaurants -- Koyla, Cafe Basilico, Basilico House and Chai Coffi -- in Mumbai.

Farhan is also a builder and recently turned politician like his father. He contested elections in 2010 as a Samajwadi Party candidate.

Amrita Arora

Amrita Arora married Shakeel Ladak in 2009.

Ladak, who hails from Hyderabad, is in the construction business.

Gayatri Joshi

Eight months after the release of her first film Swades, Gayatri Joshi married Vikas Oberoi on August 27, 2005.

Vikas is the Managing Director of Oberoi Constructions.

Shilpa Shetty

Shilpa Shetty, who is expecting her first child in May, married Raj Kundra in November 2009.

UK-based Kundra was the Chief Executive Officer of Essential General Trading LLC of a Dubai-based international trading company dealing in precious metals, construction, mining and green renewable energy projects.

Besides having a stake in the IPL team Rajasthan Royals, Kundra also deals with Kundra Constructions, Essential Sports Media, TMT Global, Iconic Investment, Group Home Buyers and his wife's charitable trust, Shilpa Shetty Foundation.

In 2004, he was ranked the 198th richest British Asian.

Karisma Kapoor

Karisma married Delhi-based businessman Sanjay Kapur in September 2003 soon after his divorce from first wife, fashion designer Nandita Mahtani. 

Sanjay is the CEO of Sixt India, a car rental company.

Raveena Tandon

Raveena Tandon married film distributor Anil Thadani -- they'd fallen in love during the making of her film, Stumped.

Thadani was earlier married to Natasha Sippy, daughter of film producer Romu Sippy.

Juhi Chawla

Juhi Chawla married British businessman Jay Mehta, who was earlier married to Sujata Birla -- Yash Birla's sister, who died in plane crash.

Jay owns Mehta Group, which is spread across Africa, India, Canada and USA. 

He owns two companies in India -- Sauarashtra Cement Ltd and Gujarat Sidhee Cement Ltd.
 
He is also the co-owner of IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, along with Shah Rukh Khan.
