A new Govinda in three months!

Believe it or not, Govinda is all set to don a new look, albeit a serious one this time.

GovindaKnown for his comic roles, the artiste says he is turning down run-of-the-mill offers nowadays, as he wants to do meaningful roles in an effort to project himself as an accomplished actor. Govinda was in New Delhi to promote his forthcoming film Raja Bhaiya costarring Aarti Chhabria. "I used to do so many films at a time. Now I am deliberately cutting down," he adds but declines to reveal what is in store for the viewers.

"Surprise is a big thing in itself. Wait for three more months and you will find a new Govinda," he says, indicating his intention to portray different roles.

About his forthcoming releases and his stereotyped comic roles, he says, "Even though my films are on expected lines, I always strive to do expected things in an unexpected way."

Will his image as a humorous actor hamper his endeavour to do serious roles? Govinda admits it is difficult to break that image but exudes confidence and adds, "Every person, whether he is an artist or not, should give a new look to his image." (PTI)
