Love story: 'I fell for her the moment I saw her'

Last updated on: December 14, 2010 18:40 IST

We invited readers to share stories of how they met their spouses and interesting anecdotes about their wedding day. Here's Jayakrishnan's account of how he met his wife, Anitha

One fine day my mom showed me a photo and asked me whether I liked her. It came as a surprise to me.

I saw the photo and said that she looked nice. Then she dropped the bomb! We were leaving the same night to see her next day!

I was a bit reluctant but then agreed as my mom told me that the girl wanted to see me in person. I realised that everything was almost fixed. I had left the job to my parents and relatives because I trusted them.

Throughout the night in the train I kept wondering what to talk to her. I couldn't sleep because everything was happening so suddenly.

We went to her house.

When I saw her I fell in love with her right then and there! Those beautiful eyes!

She brought coffee for us and I kept thinking if she'd drop it on me like it happens in the movies.

(Later when I told her about it, she laughed)

Now we are happily married and have a lovely two-year-old son. Our marriage has seen lots of ups and downs but our love for each other has seen us through.

Share your romantic experiences with us! Write in to getahead@rediff.co.in (subject line: 'My love story') along with a photograph of you and your spouse if possible and we'll publish the best entries right here!
