Images: India's ten most photogenic women!

Celebrity photographer Subi Samuel lists the best feminine faces ever to face the flashbulbs.

Subi Samuel likes to call himself a 'people photographer'. It's what he says he does best -- capture a moment in the lives of people and shoot their expressions.

Unlike most of his peers, Subi also loves to sketch. He's an artist and quite like his work with the camera, he loves to sketch portraits.

So when we asked him to name the most photogenic Indian women, his list ranged from models and Bollywood stars to politicians, social workers and theatre veterans -- some he hasn't shot, most others he has! Take a look.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

I'd pick her for her sheer beauty -- she has a great face and she's so beautiful that she doesn't have to try very hard to look good on camera.

It must be crazy to just wake up and look as beautiful as her!

Mother Teresa

Every child in this country knows what Mother Teresa has done for the poor and the sick.

All her life is reflected on her face -- be it the age lines or her weathered hands. And all of this only adds to her aura and her beauty.

Mother Teresa is so phenomenal as a face! Sadly, I've never had the opportunity to shoot a picture, but I have done some charcoal sketches of her.

Sonia Gandhi

There is something exceptionally attractive about Sonia Gandhi.

Yet again (like Mother Teresa) she is someone I haven't shot yet. However, I do hope I will get the opportunity to shoot pictures of her.

She comes across as a woman of great determination. Without sounding political, we all know how she has fought her way up and how she has brought up her kids.

Sonia Gandhi isn't someone who wallowed in self-pity (when her husband died). Instead she took on the mantle and ran. I admire that about her

There is something steely about her that comes across on her face.

Monikangana Dutta

To me, Monikangana Dutta depicts the modern Indian woman in fashion -- exotic and beautiful.

She's got great skin, a great face and is someone who is fabulously pretty.

Saina Nehwal

Saina Nehwal is another person I am often fascinated by and I am quite struck by her face.

She is an athlete and I believe there is something beautiful about most athletes. They have a great body, an almost zero-fat figure and most importantly there is a determination on their face that makes them photogenic.

Sonam Kapoor

Here's someone who is quite simply beautiful. Sonam Kapoor has great features, a never-ending neck and no matter how you look at her she is very, very attractive.

Sushmita Sen

Sushmita Sen has been a path-breaker and a global beauty. She was the one who set alive the dreams of a whole generation and taught them to believe that they too can be beautiful.

Sushmita is someone who is extremely gifted and lights up the camera whenever she faces it.

She is someone who I feel depicts extravagance -- the way she dresses up, or quite simply how she carries herself is phenomenal; she may be wearing a pair of jeans and a tee-shirt, but there'll be that expensive diamond ring she'll be sporting!

Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif has been beautiful right from day one. She exuded innocence then and she does so even now. This is what I find attractive about her -- it is very difficult to retain that innocence after so many years of being around.

When she started out with Boom, everyone wrote her off! She's risen from the ashes to become one of the top actresses in the country! That says something, doesn't it?

Kangana Ranaut

I find Kangana Ranaut to be exceptionally beautiful. Kangana is beautiful in an unconventional manner.

I suppose a lot of it also has to do with the route she took to Bollywood -- instead of being the one running in a white sari around trees, she chose films that were not necessarily mainstream and played characters that were controversial and she's done pretty well for herself.

Besides being photogenic, Kangana is also a very good human being -- there is something likeable, loveable and nice about her!

Zohra Sehgal

Quite like Mother Teresa, Zohra Sehgal has a lot of substance, which makes her so beautiful! She's over 90 years old and last I heard she'd stopped acting, which is a national loss actually!

I had an opportunity to shoot with her, during which we kept talking about this and that. She mentioned that she did these children's programmes where she recites poems. So I asked her to recite a couple and soon enough I realised that was when I should shoot her.

Unsurprisingly, she came out with the most amazing expressions!
