If bikes are here can Jyotsana Gupta be far behind? Take a look at what happened at the recently concluded India Bike Week

2013 India Bike Week, an event spanning over a duration of not more than two days and yet packed with so much fun and fanaticism that even seven days together could not have provided, kicked off on the 2nd of February 2013 with a big bang and ended on the 3rd after immersing the whole of Goa in its resounding roar.

Organised along the lines of the distinguished Sturgis Motorcycle Rally of South Dakota, this bike festival was the first full-fledged event of India dedicated to bikes from every existing brand and open to bikers from every part of the country. As far as the success of the event is concerned, that was pretty evident as the booming rumble of the thousands of motorbikes that had ridden to the show from across the nation could be heard echoing its glorious success story even miles away from the picturesque Vagator Beach where this entire festival was set up, spread over an expansive ground space of 7 acres.

Now an account of all the happenings of the enthralling event, each and every one of which was just as exhilarating as the next, would not be possible to wrap up in one little article, nor will a piece of writing ever be enough to encompass the boundless sea of enthusiasm and passion that had broken loose during the India Bike Week.

So, what we bring our readers here instead is a set of those extraordinary highlights without which this festival would not have been what it has turned out to be. Enjoy!

Marvels in the making

If watching those splendid bikes showing their brilliance off from every corner of the vast venue could somehow have failed to entice the 4,000 visitors at the grand show, watching them being built right in front of their eyes would surely have bowled them over.

Forming one of the biggest highlights of the IBW, the dynamic Rajputana Custom Motorcycles squad won the Biker build-off, beating the two other participating groups, called as the Transfigure Custom House and the Dreamriders Vehicles.

Tweak zone

While these three participating teams were busy creating their own personal wonders at the Biker build-off platforms, there was a special 'Pimp My Ride' camp set up right next to them for those riders who wanted to add some spark to their rides and helmets.

From trendy paint jobs to funky patchworks, from stylish decals to bikini bike wash, the IBW Custom Shop had it all.

Names worthy of special mention

Being an event that was just as much about thrilling bikes as it was about those extraordinary bikers who rode them, a special activity known as the Honour Roll formed a significant part of the 2013 India Bike Week.

Honoured in this unique event were three of the most celebrated Indian bikers of all times -- Ashish Moudghil, Deepa Malik and Bullet Bose, each of whom have spent their lives enjoying the thrill that epic adventure brings, whether it is in an athletic arena, on a blazing race track or across the expansive national highways.

Besides being graced by the breathtaking moves of the world renowned freestyle biker, Mattie Griffin, the IBW Stunt Zone also featured some really electrifying stunts performed by a whole lot of Indian riders also.

A special dirt track put up at the other end of the venue exclusively for dirt biking enthusiasts also had huge crowds swarming around it.
