One of the largest forts in India, Mehrangarh is located 400 feet above the city of Jodhpur on a rocky hill known as Bhaurcheeria, the mountain of birds.

Built in 1459 by Rao Jodha, the fifteenth Rathore ruler, the fort has several beautiful palaces, courtyards, temples and galleries.
