Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's birthday celebrations in Port of Spain turned out to be quite lively with the West Indian cricketers also joining the party.

Dhoni, who turned 32 on Sunday, has stayed with the Indian squad despite being ruled out of the ongoing ODI tri-series due to a hamstring injury.

After Sunday's celebrations, India's most successful skipper took to Twitter to give his fans a glimpse of the bash.

"Thanks everyone specially Bravo for the lovely evening and the soft cake all over my face and hair," Dhoni posted, along with a picture of his face smeared with cake.

"All West Indian players and friends present were like no no u don't celebrate like tht, I said its just the beginning," the Jharkhand lad wrote.

A photograph of the cake, which had MSD 7 inscribed on it, was posted by Dhoni along with another tweet.

"Thats the cake. Looks great and tastes even better. Face feels really soft now, we should call it cake therapy," he wrote.

Dhoni began his career in 2004/05 against Bangladesh; it was a rather forgettable debut considering that he was run-out for a duck.

But his career graph has only headed northwards after that; now he is easily one of the most revered sportspersons in the country.

The wicketkeeper-batsman has played 77 Tests so far, scoring 4209 runs at an average of 39.70.

Considered a game-changer in the ODI format, Dhoni has scored 7313 runs, at an average of 51.13, in 225 matches.

Under him, India won the Twenty20 World Championship in 2007, the ODI World Cup (2011) and Champions Trophy (2013).
