# Gary Ballance's unbeaten 104 is his third hundred in Tests -- his second against India.

# Ballance, for the first time in consecutive Tests, has recorded hundreds. With 312 runs (ave.104.00), he is the leading run-scorer in the series for England.

# Ballance's above tally is his best performance in a Test series, bettering the 201 (ave.67.00) in two Tests against Sri Lanka in 2014.

# Ballance's tally of 538 runs (ave.67.25) in six Tests, is the highest for England this year.

# Cook and Ballance were associated in a partnership of 158 -- the highest for any wicket at The Rose Bowl, Southampton, eclipsing the 141 for the fifth wicket between Samaraweera and Sangakkara for Sri Lanka vs England in 2011.

 # Pankaj Singh, with 300 first-class wickets, became the 282nd cricketer to have played Test cricket for India.
