Mahendra Singh Dhoni suffered his sixth consecutive away Test defeat as Australia won the second Test in the ongoing series at Sydney by an innings and 68 runs.

The knives are out on his captaincy, and one question on everyone's mind is whether he should give up the leadership of the Test team.

Dhoni's handling of the team in England last year, and now in Australia on the current tour, has been lackadaisical. Rather than taking the initiative, his negative tactics let the game drift.

While the poor showing in England could be attributed to injury problems the team was beset with, the meek surrender in the first two Tests in Australia is inexplicable.

Starting Day 3 in the Sydney Test with a defensive field baffled the skeptics, so much so that Ian Chappell, during commentary, declared that Dhoni is a good ODI skipper, but not a Test skipper.

At the moment, Dhoni looks overburdened by the weight of captaincy. Added to that, his wicketkeeping is losing sheen.

Should he should step down as Test captain and concentrate on batting and 'keeping in the longer format?

Should India follow England and South Africa and appoint separate captain for Tests and ODIs?
