England pacer Chris Tremlett was ruled out of the third Test against India, starting Wednesday, having failed to recover from a back injury.

Tremlett?also missed the second Test, which England won by a huge 319-run margin at Trent Bridge, due to back spasm and a hamstring problem.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said on its website that Tremlett is not available and will receive ongoing treatment ahead of the fourth Test, scheduled at The Oval, his home ground, on August 18.

India is also grappling with injuries, as pace spearhead Zaheen Khan, spinner Harbhajan Singh and left-hand batsman Yuvraj Singh have all been ruled out of the remainder of the England tour due to injuries.
