The world's most-hated airports are not necessarily the worst. But many travelers experienced a harrowing time at these airports.

CNNGo lists 10 most hated airports based on travellers' experiences.

Take a look at the world's 10 worst airports...

10. Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International, Brazil

In 2010, the airport was ranked first in terms of passenger traffic, and cargo handled in Brazil, placing it amongst the busiest airports in the country.

Guarulhos has been rated third in terms of flight delays among major world airports by Forbes magazine in January 2008 and 2011.

According to the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil, 25 per cent of the flights left with delays greater than 15 minutes.

The airport is incapable of handling huge traffic. The airport had plans to add more terminals and runways but it has not taken off yet.

Only 41 per cent of flights leave on time from this airport.
