30 countries where petrol costs more than India

After the government allowed the oil and gas companies to fix petrol prices, we have seen more hikes in price than reduction. As Iraq crisis deepens, there are chances of further upward revision.

There is a general perception that India is among the countries that pay the highest for petrol. However, going by the current prices around the globe this does not hold true.

There are many more countries - 42 to be precise - that pay more than Indians for a litre of petrol and at least four countries pay double, according to Bloomberg.
