2006's best Telugu movies

December 28, 2006

Sri Ramadasu

A historical tale made in a mainstream format, Sri Ramadasu was lapped up by the masses instantly when it released on Ugadi (Telugu New Year's day). Nagarjuna, who played a historical character (Bhakta Ramadasu) for the second time (the first being Annamayya), is being hailed for the performance of a lifetime.

The quartet of Raghavendra Rao (director), J K Bharavi (writer), M M Keeravani (music composer) and Nagarjuna recreated the magic of Annamayya with Sri Ramadasu. Sneha proved to be the 'ideal' wife to Ramadasu. Nagarjuna shared screen space with his father, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, (who portrayed the role of Kabir Das). Some good locales added authenticity to the movie.
