Tomasson gives Denmark victory

The striker scored once in each half to give Denmark victory over Uruguay in group A.
Day of the Danes - Images from the match

Uruguay has history on its side, but the resources on the ground are few and far between. Their approach is defensive and the squad is content on guarding its citadel rather than initiating forays.

These tactics may be a virtue against the aggressive style of France and Senegal, and Denmark to a lesser extent, but such thinking won't pay dividends.
