Back me and win, says Ronaldo

Ronaldo has a hot tip for the gambling fraternity -- bet on him to finish top scorer at the World Cup and you could win a fortune.

"Not many people are betting on me, but now I'm going to surprise everybody and the people who believed in me are going to win lots of money," the Brazilian striker told reporters.

Ronaldo, twice World Player of the Year, made his international comeback against Yugoslavia in March after being out injured for 2-1/2 years. He has not scored since his return and will aim to break his duck in Saturday's friendly against Malaysia, Brazil's last before the World Cup.

Ronaldo"I'm not very anxious, the goals will come of their own accord," he said. "I'll just have to work hard, move around a lot and the goals will come at the right time."

Ronaldo predicted Brazil's attack, which features Rivaldo with Ronaldinho Gaucho as the attacking midfielder, is destined for great things.

"I think we've got everything we need to form an excellent attack, to score lots of goals and that's what we're working for," he said.

The Inter Milan striker wants to wipe out the sad memories of the 1998 World Cup final against France where he played hours after suffering a fit. He said he is happy to track back and mark opponents, as demanded by coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.

"The whole team has to work hard, not just the defence, the midfield or the attack," he said. "Whoever goes on the field has to help Brazil to win.

"There has never been any question that Brazilians have the best technique, now we have to work on our physical condition and combine the two.

"All the other teams have good strikers but we have to look firstly at our own house, try to repair the defects and improve."
