National Boxing championship

Bagyaraj of the Presidents' XI, who fought in the lightweight (57-60kgs) category, was adjudged as the best boxer of the tournament.

The India international saved his best for the final to outscore D. Manikandan of the Railway Sports Promotion Board in the third round and win 38-18.

He had won his first bout with a RSC verdict and didn't waste any time defeating Mailagir of Maharashtra in the semi-final, scoring the only knockout of the tournament.
