Canada - Malaysia draw 1-1

Canada and Malaysia played out a 1-1 draw in their concluding match in Group A in the men's hockey tournament in cold and wet conditions on Tuesday.

Canada completed their league engagements with three points while Malaysia, four.

In a physical match, Canada held sway right through the first half, but could find the mark just once from the nearly ten scoring opportunities that came their way, when captain Peter Milkovich beat Malaysian goalkeeper Ibrahim Nasihin in the 27th minute.

In the second session too, they continued in the same vein but were either wayward or found the Malaysian keeper difficult to beat.

Malaysia restored parity in the 59th minute through Chairil who found the back of the net from a rebound of goalkeeper Mike Mahood's pads.
