Five years on, where Iraq stands

The US forces were welcomed with open arms. After all, they were their 'liberators'. As they patrolled the streets of the war-ravaged country, Iraqis cheered and thanked them for saving them from the tyranny of Saddam. Today, many dread the moment when the US military decides to pull out from their country. Plagued by insurgency, languishing economy and lack of amenities, the ordinary Iraqi yearns for attention.
