Jhajjar lynching case:
Shiv Sena leader surrenders

Jhajjar district unit president of the Shiv Sena Sheeshpal on Thursday surrendered in a court in Jhajjar in connection with the case pertaining to the lynching of five dalits in October.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Sanjiv Jindal had on Wednesday issued arrest warrants against him and 15 others.

Sheeshpal was remanded to judicial custody till December 12 by the court after being formally arrested after his surrender.

With this, the number of persons arrested in the lynching case has risen to 17.

Meanwhile, eight other accused arrested earlier and lodged in the Rohtak jail, were on Thursday produced in the court at Jhajjar on the expiry of their judicial remand period. The court extended their judicial custody till December 12.
