Discussion on Gujarat quake
likely on Feb 26

The Gujarat earthquake is likely to be discussed in both Houses of Parliament on February 26.

In the Lok Sabha, the debate may be taken up after the presentation of the Railway Budget while the Upper House is likely to discuss the issue immediately after Question Hour, Lok Sabha sources said on Thursday.

The debate was to be taken up on February 20 but was postponed following the death of CPI leader Indrajit Gupta.

Opposition parties have been critical of government on the issue of relief and rehabilitation measures in Gujarat alleging there has been discrimination in distribution of relief on basis of caste, religion and political affiliations.
