We haven't had a long tradition of road movies, but there have been several instances of films based around the protagonists' travels, films where the trip takes centrestage and becomes instrumental to the story itself.
Of course, more often than not the trip just helps the girl fall in love with the boy, but who's complaining?
Here's a look at Heroes, which tries to enter that genre this Friday, and a bunch of road movies where Bollywood trips out on the journey, not the destination.

Samir Karnik's nationalistic film sees Sohail Khan and Vatsal Sheth star as a couple of film school students travelling across the length and breadth of the nation to deliver a few letters -- as part of their film school assignment? The trip, as one can imagine, changes their lives forever.
