How do you feel when your songs are recognised but you aren't?
Earlier, there were few female singers, so it was not difficult to know all of them. Today, there are so many singers that it becomes difficult for people to recognise the voices. Even actors, for whom we sing, don't know us. Like when I met Katrina, she was delighted to know that I have sung most of her songs.
Singers, who win or lose reality shows, are recognised. But they don't get playback singing offers. So being on such shows makes you famous but doesn't give you work.
Have you thought about acting?
I have got many offers but I don't want to act. I want to concentrate on singing.
What are your forthcoming films?
There is Kidnap, Golmaal Returns, Freeze, Hari Puttar and Toh Baat Paki. I will also cut an album with Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
