Every time she is on a set, Shefali has no clue how she will react when the director says 'Action.' Sometimes she thinks she will just stand there and wonder what she is supposed to do.

"I go by my instincts. I deliver what I deliver, cry when I cry, laugh when I laugh. There are times when I make markings on my script and say this is what I am going to do, but when I do the take I do something completely different."

After Waqt she will be seen in a brief role in Aparna Sen's 15, Park Avenue alongside another stellar cast of Waheeda Rehman, Dhritiman Chatterjee, Shabana Azmi, Rahul Bose and Konkana Sensharma. Her role is small -- maybe three to four scenes -- but she is thrilled with the way it has been conceptualised and how it has turned out.

"Aparnadi's film is beautiful. The sequence, the scenes Rahul and I have. It was an absolute treat."

She has also begun shooting for theatre director Feroze Khan's Gandhi, My Father and says never before has she been offered the roles she is getting now. Gandhi, My Father is a huge film and will be shot in India and South Africa. Featuring Akshaye Khanna as Gandhi's son Harilal and Bhoomika Chawla as his wife Gulab, Shefali does not reveal the theatre actor slated to play Gandhi.

"It is not only about Kasturba when she is old, it is the time she started out. It is about the personal life of Gandhi, Harilal and Kasturba."
