Rumour mills have been churning out gossip about Alanis tying the knot with boyfriend actor Ryan Reynolds later in India this month, and she laughed it off, but didn't quite deny the idea of it:
"I won't be getting married this month, but I do think I want to do it (here)! It's a beautiful country and I'm going to keep coming back. I want to do a complete concert here as well!"
Then came the clincher question - what is your favourite Britney Spears track?
Alanis burst out laughing, obviously caught unawares by the question. She mock-postured some deep thought, finger on cheek in mimicked thoughtfulness and lots of hemming and hawing before finally relenting: "I think her cover of Bobby Brown's song (current Britney release My prerogative) was pretty good."
Eager to discover more, I ran behind the singer to unearth something I was always curious about. In her fabulous cover version of Sting's classic King of Pain, why had she never changed the lyric, never re-adjusted it to Queen, changed the gender?
