Tagore: A one-man, million-$ industry

More than hundred years ago, a poet, litterateur, educationist, philosopher and Nobel Laureate had to sell his wife's jewellery to sustain an educational institution of his dream.

In a complete reversal of trend 147 years later, the same grand old man is reverred across the world as an industry by himself, with hundreds earning their daily bread by dealing in his creations.

We are talking about Rabindranath Tagore, whose ever-growing popularity continues to rock the business world. Tagore's works of literature still top the bestsellers' list while his music earns millions of dollars across the globe.
