Though the Trinamool loyalists claimed 7,000 to 10,000 people met at the manch everyday, it seemed the number of agitators had begun to thin. There were only a few hundred present at the protest venue on August 29.
"Many are busy organising a one-hour road blockade in Kolkata later in the afternoon," reasoned a party activist.
On our way back we were in for a surprise.
Contrary to reports that traffic has come to a standstill on the Durgapur Expressway, we found the road quite empty on our way back.
We cursed ourselves for having opted for another route in the morning.
