Tatas to exit Bengal if protests continue

August 29, 2008

Though the Trinamool loyalists claimed 7,000 to 10,000 people met at the manch everyday, it seemed the number of agitators had begun to thin. There were only a few hundred present at the protest venue on August 29.

"Many are busy organising a one-hour road blockade in Kolkata later in the afternoon," reasoned a party activist.

On our way back we were in for a surprise.

Contrary to reports that traffic has come to a standstill on the Durgapur Expressway, we found the road quite empty on our way back.

We cursed ourselves for having opted for another route in the morning.
