Microsoft Unveils Surface Laptop & Surface Pro Devices

Microsoft has unveiled its latest devices -- the 13-inch Surface Laptop and 12-inch Surface Pro. Powered by Snapdragon X Plus processors and equipped with enhanced capabilities, it uses the newest version of Windows 11.

Display

The laptop features a touchscreen with a resolution of 1920 by 1280 and supports a refresh rate of up to 60Hz. It includes multiple USB-C ports for both power and file transfer, along with a USB 3.1 Type-A slot for added connectivity.

Design

This latest Surface Laptop is Microsoft’s slimmest model to date, has the longest battery life, along with fast USB-C charging for universal compatibility.

Camera And Audio

The laptop comes with a 1080p Full HD front camera, offering sharp and clear video quality for calls and streaming. For audio, it is equipped with Omnisonic speakers enhanced with Dolby Atmos technology, delivering rich and immersive sound, complemented by Dual Studio Mics for crystal-clear voice capture.

New Features

The Copilot+ PC platform is receiving a host of new features, including an AI assistant integrated into the Settings menu, expanded Click to Do functionalities, enhanced Windows Search, and fresh AI-powered tools in Photos, Paint,  and for the Snipping Tool.

Keyboard

The laptop also includes a flexible stand for angle adjustment and a removable keyboard, along with the Surface Slim Pen, which conveniently magnetically snaps to the rear of the tablet.

Display

The Microsoft Surface Pro on the other hand adopts a tablet-style design and is equipped with an LCD touch display offering a resolution of 2196 by 1464. Uses same Hexagon neural processing unit as the laptop and shares identical tech specs. Capable of delivering up to 16 hours video playback, 12 hours web usage, its battery supports a full day’s use.

Price

The Surface Pro tablet begins at $799, with the Surface Laptop starting from $899, positioning both as more affordable alternatives to the Snapdragon X Elite variants. Both these models are set to launch in India on July 15, 2025, with pre-bookings currently underway.
