The lush green backwaters of Kerala have been known to stir up some hot passion as honeymoon couples flock here and live it up in cosy, private houseboats that shut the world out.
Where to do it
The towns that you need to consider for your wedding plans are Alleppy, Kottayam and Kumarakom. If you like Kerala beaches, then you could choose from among Kovalam, Somatheeram, Varkala and Shanghumukham beaches. A wedding planner will arrange for a traditional-style wedding if you like, with the groom arriving on an elephant, or you could live it up on the wild shore.
What it will cost you
"Kerala beach weddings are slightly cheaper than Goa (Rs 60,000 and up), but if you add on backwater cruises, they end up costing the same," says Anvita.
