On May 10 there were torrential rains in Port Blair and all the flights from Chennai to Port Blair were cancelled. We were not sure whether to pack our bags or not.
However, the Air Deccan call centre people assured us that our flight was on schedule and so we went to the airport, fingers crossed. The flight took off after a 45 minutes delay.
We landed at Port Blair at 1 pm and reached the hotel at 1.30 pm. The children were given a model Air Deccan aircraft each and were thrilled. Our lunch was on the flight: Sandwiches and chips for Rs 500!
