Our day began with a visit to the Science and Technology Museum that was established in 1984 and that has several galleries for children to understand science and other subjects.
The Priyadarsini Planetarium, a gateway to the world of astronomy, is also located here.
Close by is the Mascot Hotel, Kerala Tourism Development Coproration's five star heritage hotel, and the Kerala State Legislative Assembly.

The Zoological Park was established in 1857 and is located in the heart of the city. Be prepared to walk for an hour if you want to see the animals, birds and reptiles.
Napier museum was established by the Maharaja of Travancore in 1855. Do not miss an opportunity to see this architectural masterpiece. The museum houses rare collections of bronze statures, ancient jewelry, traditional musical instruments, Kathakali models and much more.
The Sri Chitra Art Gallery next to the museum houses paintings by Raja Ravi Varma. Also on display are Tanjore miniature paintings, miniatures from around the world and artistic work from other contemporary artists.
Close by is the Kanakakkunnu Palace, erstwhile home of the Maharajas of Travancore. It is a stunning piece of architecture and now hosts quite a few cultural programmes, including the annual festivities during Onam and the annual Flower Show in January/ February.
