Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) like w-3 (Omega-3) acids are natural moisturisers of the skin. Include rich sources in your diet like fish, flax seed, almonds, walnuts etc. Or ask your dermatologist to prescribe an EFA supplement.
Certain diseases like psoriasis and atopic dermatitis can worsen in dry and cold weather. Patients suffering from them must use moisturisers regularly and consult their dermatologists for prevention of flare-ups and maintenance.
