Valluvar Kottam, stands as a testimony to the poet-saint Thiruvalluvar. A 101-feet high temple chariot structure with a life-size statue of the poet stands here. It also has an auditorium with seating capacity of 4000.
St Thomas Mount
St Thomas Mount was the only sight of a mountain I had during my two-day stay in Chennai.
Being close to the flying range, this is a good spot to watch the airplanes land and take off. A Portuguese Church stands at the summit of the 300 foot high St. Thomas Mount where St Thomas, it is believed, died.
