Bengali style

December 27, 2007
This style of draping the saree was made popular by Aishwarya Rai in her film Devdas and is popularly refered to as the 'Devdas style'.

~ The traditional Bengali style of draping a saree does not use pleats.
~ Wrapped the saree around the waist and tucked it in at the left hip.
~ Bring the material back to the front and drape it over the left shoulder, neatly drawing the pallav acorss with as few gathers as possible.
~ The outer border should flow straight down, pinned at your left shoulder and falling to your knee.
~ The rest of the pallav is brought under the right arm and draped once again over the left or right shoulder.
