Spellbound in God's Own Country
After negotiating the small canals, we entered the wide open lake. The boat picked up speed, cruising towards Punnamada, where paddy fields lie below sea level.
We stopped near Punnamada after a few hours of cruising, and lunch was served.
It was one of the best meals I have ever had: Afloat, surrounded by tranquil nature and pampered by a courteous chef.
Airfare for Rs 599 and less!
The delicious food was served in traditional Kerala style. After the heavy lunch, we set off again to explore and enjoy the serene waterscape.
While we cruised along, the chief oarsman explained the significance of each place.
We lounged on the sofa, listening to the chirping birds and splashing water. It was a perfect way to get rid of the stress of city life.
