'It's a dream come true'

Vivek Fernandes in Mumbai

Gracy Singh, who had a dream debut in Aamir Khan's superhit film, Lagaan, was totally caught unawares by its nomination for the Best Foreign Film at the 74th Annual Academy Nominations at Los Angeles.

"Are you serious?" was her stunned reaction on the phone. Rediff.com was the first to break the news to her. "This is amazing!"

Then, as if she could not believe what she was hearing, she asked again, "You wouldn't be kidding about something like this, would you?"

Gracy said she was really hoping and praying something like this would happen. "It's a dream come true." The film's heroine is yet to speak to Aamir Khan, Lagaan's producer-hero and Ashutosh Gowariker, the film's director.
