US bombs Baghdad market, 15 dead

March 26, 2003 17:14 IST

An American missile strike hit a busy Baghdad market on Wednesday morning, killing 15 people and incensing the residents, BBC reported.

Three apartment blocks on the shopping street in the Al-Shaad district of the Iraqi capital were destroyed in the attack.

Shops on either side of the street were gutted and several cars and trees were burnt in the fires that broke out.
