Fernades is 'sad' over Iraq war

Sheela Bhatt in Mumbai | March 20, 2003 21:21 IST

Defence Minister George Fernandes on Thursday said he was 'feeling sad' over the attack on Iraq by United States-led forces.

"We are disappointed. We tried very best to prevent the war. It was an all out effort to avert a war," he told rediff.com

"As far as India is concerned we have made arrangement to bring our nationals from Iraq. Many of them have already gone to neighbouring countries and waiting to be airlifted," he said.
