Blast in Kandahar kills 18 people

A bomb destroyed a bridge outside Kandahar, Afghanistan, on Friday, killing 18 people travelling in a bus, police said.

Only two people on the bus survived the blast on the Rambasi Bridge, deputy police chief Ustad Nazir Jan was quoted as saying on Friday.

The Al-Qaeda and Taliban are suspected to be behind the blast, he said.
