Iraq warns of non-conventional attack

April 04, 2003 22:50 IST

Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed Said al-Sahhaf on Friday warned the US of a 'non-conventional' attack on its forces now fighting to secure the international airport in Baghdad.

However, he ruled out the use of unconventional weapons against the Americans.

At the daily briefing, Al-Sahhaf said that US forces had been isolated at the airport and that Iraqi forces had them surrounded.

Iraqi television showed President Saddam Hussein appealing to his people to resist the invading forces and fight them with whatever they can.
