Thai me up, Bombay, hosts Ek Pe Ek, happy hours on weekdays.

The restaurant offers a complimentary drink and vegetarian starters with every drink. The starters include mixed vegetables with sesame seeds, vegetable spring rolls, vegetable tartlets and Thai moneybags.

China Garden's new avtar

China Garden has reopened in Bombay at south Bombay shopping centre, Crossroads, where Biscotti was (Biscotti has closed down). Piano Bar has also reopened at Crossroads too, in place of Cafe Ole, across the Crossroads atrium from China Garden.

China Garden, in its second avatar, looks somewhat like the restaurant that was housed at Om Chambers, Kemps Corner, with an accent again on red, green and white. Unlike the old restaurant, which occupied several floors, the new China Garden is spread over one level and has a spacious look, with expanses of black marble and a prominent bar. The restaurant is decorated with Chinese artefacts and the view into the Crossroads atrium is framed with delicate white lace Chinese curtains. It will accommodate 300 covers.

China Garden@Crossroads will have the original China Garden menu, with a few new dishes added. China Garden hot favourites are prawns wrapped in bacon, crispy Peking chicken, crispy beans, Shantung prawns, gin chicken, hakka fish.

Lunch will be served from 1200 hours to 1500 hours and dinner from 1930 hours to 2400 hours. Alcohol will be served. All major credit cards accepted.

Bombay has a new restaurant. Rewind, located in Fort, offers continental, Mexican, Chinese and Thai cuisine.

The lunch buffet includes of a soup, salad, main course and dessert and is priced at Rs 200, per head, including taxes. For the non-vegetarians there is chicken stroganoff, chicken steak peppernota, roast tenderloin and fish and chips. For the vegetarians, there is pastas, cottage cheese and dry fruit and nuts steak, lasagne Florentine and rosti pizza.

The restaurant also has a bar, offering cocktails, mocktails and the regular alcoholic drinks, priced at Rs 105 onwards.

The restaurant has 10 tables. It has an old Hollywood look, with pictures of Hollywood stars, old cameras, antiques and old Hollywood melodies.

Lunch will be served from 1230 hours to 1500 hours and dinner will be served from 1800 hours to midnight.

Ever tried a chicken dosa? Or a prawn dosa?

Dosa Diner located in Bandra, Bombay, offers a variety of dosas.

The menu includes vegetarian, chicken, prawns and chinese filling with the dosas. Masala dosa, mysore dosa, sada dosa, rava dosa, neer dosa, paper dosa, idlis and upma are also available.

The dosas are priced at Rs 25 and the fillings are priced at Rs 35 onwards. A 12 per cent tax is also charged.

The menu also includes fish thali, crab thali and chicken thali, priced at Rs 120.

The restaurant has 40 tables.

Mexican mazaa throughout the week

Casa Mexicana, Oberoi Towers, Bombay, offers exciting menus throughout the week:

On weekends, it offers a lunch buffet, priced at Rs 375 per head, taxes included. The spread includes fajitas which is chicken or mixed sea food sizzlers, torta vegiduras which includes seasonal vegetables, Mexican rice and salads and finish off with cheese cake, fruit salad, chocolate mousse and bread pudding.

Lunch will be served from 1230 hours to 1445 hours.

On Mondays and Tuesdays, the chef will make your choice of tacos at the Taco Bar with chopped tomatoes, vegetable salsas, tenderloins, cabbage, mushrooms, sour cream and fried beans. It is priced at Rs 225 per head, taxes included.

Exotic Thai buffet

Sanuk Thai, Bombay, offers Sunday buffet lunches for Rs 299 per head, taxes included.

You can start off with Plaraad Prik, which is fried Bhakti fish with sweet and spicy red chilly sauce, Phad Thai Je, which is stir fried noodles with vegetables, Phad Thai Gai which is noodles with chicken and cream curry with vegetables and finish with fresh friuts, water chesnuts in coconut water and steam custard. You can also enjoy a complimentary pint of Fosters beer, or a glass of wine or Pepsi.

Crabs, lobster, squid, oyster...

A new seafood restaurant has opened in Bombay. Bay of Bombay, located at Marine Lines, offers seafood prepared in whichever manner you choose. You can choose the sauce in which you want the fish to be served.

Starters - Crevete basket which includes king prawns served with lemon tartar sauce and home fries, raw oysters, Bali satey which is chicken served with peanut sauce.
Menu specials - You can choose from prawns, salmon, lobster, oyster, crab and squid with either garlic butter sauce, lemon butter sauce, oriental with hot and spicy sauce, poached wheat burre blanc sauce and steamed sweet and sour sauce.
For the vegetarians, there is vegetable pasta, whole-wheat crepes with mushrooms and vegetable ghassi.
Desserts: Byculla soufflé, duo of chocolate mousse, fresh fruit sabayon, peach gateau and triple sundaes.

The starters are priced between Rs 95 and Rs 165. A main course dish is priced between Rs 195 and Rs 750. Deserts are priced between Rs 95 to Rs 115.

Soul Kadi, Bombay, has revamped its menu. Planet M has a new outlet!

Planet M has now opened in Shopper's Stop, Bombay.

Finally, Bombay has a mall

Crossroads, the new shopping mall in Bombay, is spread across 1,50,000 sq ft. The shopping complex has four floors in buildings A and C and building B houses Jammin', the fully equipped family entertainment centre.

The show has changed

The sound and light show in Purana Qila, New Delhi, has changed its timings till April 2000.

The Hindi show will be from 1900 hours to 2000 hours and the English show will be from 2030 hours to 2130 hours.

After April 2000, the time will change back to it's original time, that is, the Hindi show will be from 1930 hours to 2030 hours, and the English show will be from 2100 hours to 2200 hours.

Tickets will be Rs 25 per person. Children below five years is free. Group bookings will be given a 25 per cent discount. Tickets will be available at the venue and at the Delhi Tourism office.
